As a registered nurse for over 26 years, I have seen many patients struggle with navigating their way through the healthcare system. I have also been at the bedside of many friends and family members advocating for them to receive the best possible care. What I have seen in both roles is quite frightening!

After spending a week advocating for the care of my Aunt, Jean Jabe, in a small community hospital in Virginia, I've decided that every patient deserves to have an independent patient advocate that works for them, watches over their care, and helps to navigate them through the healthcare system.
